What qualifies you to hold this position? *

​

I am a father who is vested in the success of no only my three children but of all our students. I have spent my entire professional career developing the ability to see a problem, understand the need of various groups and come up with solutions that meet the needs of the community as a whole without compromising our shared values and integrity.

What qualities or skills are important for a school board member to have? *

​

I think it is important to have an ability to step outside one’s own thoughts, feelings and ideology to truly hear and understand desires or requirements.  Then develop innovative solutions to meet the most essential needs of the district as a whole.  To be able to assess district systems and create efficiencies while discerning resource limitations.

What would your top priorities be if elected? *

​

Our district’s growth and limited budget requires innovative solutions for our staffing, overcrowded classrooms and physical space needs. I’d like to support professional development in the areas of diversity and cultural awareness. It’s also vital that we continue to improve workplace climate and strive towards diversity in hiring.

 

 

What do you think is the primary role of government? *

​

Government helps us live together and achieve common goals. It works maintain a safe and peaceful environment while allowing us to be free to exercise our own set of values and beliefs.  As a school board member, I would bring those values and ideas to our local level.
