Relevant experience: I am a father of three District 833 students.  I have a Master’s degree in Human Relations with over 29 years’ experience developing policy, setting goals, planning organizational structures and evaluating mission performance in the U.S. Air Force and at the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

The district allowed me to film the below introduction message in the form of a video.  You may see the video here:

Hello, I am Keith Collier, a candidate for District 833 School Board. My wife of 19 years and I have three children in the District 833 schools.  Our oldest is a sophomore at East Ridge High School.  We also have twins in the 6th grade at Lake Middle School.  I have a Master’s Degree in Human Relations and a Bachelor Degree in Sociology.

My family and I moved to Woodbury, Minnesota upon my retirement after 24-years of military service.  Quality schools for our three children were a high priority for us as we searched for a home in Minnesota.

We were so impressed with District 833 that we chose to settle in Woodbury.  I have served as a volunteer with the Bias and Sensitivity Review Panel for the Minnesota Department of Education, Division of Statewide Testing.  It was an honor for me to participate on this panel.  I served our students by assuring that their standardized tests were free from stereotyping, gender, religious, social-economic or ethnic bias.  I look forward to supporting our students as a member of the District 833 School Board.

In my current position at the United States Attorney’s office, I am part of a leadership team who has developed a Strategic Plan. We created and implemented policies, which propelled our office towards our organizational goals, which produced our desired effect.  I would like to use those same skills to benefit District 833.   I would like to help implement the District 833 Strategic plan and its focus on personalization, climate, and culture in all school and staff environments. I will work tirelessly with our Superintendent to ensure the implementation of this plan by engaging the community at large.  If elected, I will work closely with the District staff and our community to create and monitor the implementation of policies designed to propel our District schools toward our Strategic Plans’ desired end state and ultimately produce the desired effects in our students and District staff.  I look forward to serving this great community by serving on the District 833 school board and working to maintain the high standards of education provided in our schools.  I am “committed to igniting a passion for lifelong learning."

I ask that you vote for me, Keith Collier for District 833 school board member on November 5th.
